If you're looking for a quick getaway, especially for the 'not-so-long' weekends, then Tagaytay might be the best choice for you. Actually, there are many travel destinations near Metro Manila which only require a day or two of your time .. but with an hour travel time and its mild climate, Tagaytay always be the best for some people who can't bear with the temperature of >25° C and the sunlight (count me in please).

Tagaytay City is located in the province of Cavite which approximately 56 kilometer south of Manila. It sits on a ridge above Taal Volcano Island, an active volcano surrounded by Taal Lake. So it's required for you to sit and 'create an Instagram story' in one of the available restaurant that is provided a great view of Taal lake.

Thanks to my boss that allows me to have off days on weekend, so I was able to re-visit Tagaytay again for the 'third time' last week. As a food lover, of course food would be a main concern for me and since the trip was in Tagaytay - to eat at Bag of Beans is kind of 'a must'!!

Let's talk about this restaurant. If you're kind of an Instagram lover, then you may be familiar with this place since it frequently appear on the timeline .. or if you go to google and type something like "best restaurant in.." I'm sure you'll see the name of this place - Bag of Beans among the list of good restaurants in Tagatay.

Aside of the main branch, this restaurant has other branches that located close to each other (but not that close anyway). Most of people knows the branch by the unique name such as West Lake, Athena and Charito. The most popular one is the main branch, it provides colorful umbrellas which are perfect to take selfie with. Unfortunately we were only able to visit the Athena branch, but hey! you know what? The great scenery and ambience of this branch can really compensate the lack of colorful umbrellas, and it made me want to stay there the whole day.

In my humble opinion, the food was not that fantastic but still in great taste. The price was not so expensive, which works for me since i can order different types of food without burning a hole in my pocket. Food aside, everything was just awesome! There are spots where you can take pictures with your friends and families and trust me the atmosphere was sooooooo relaxing.

Reservation?
They said "Table booking is recommended" but I was just easy walked in when I went there - Thank God there was an available table for us in the perfect corner. We left around 2 pm and around that time, the queue was sooo let's say 'horrible' .. for those who are really hungry and has an empty stomach.
